Jane's actual birthday was spent in Auburn, CA. John was marrying some of our friends and we got to get away for the weekend.

Carson Mission Project

God is so good. John lead the high school students on a local mission trip and we have been blown away by the response. The agenda was as follows:

Thursday: Arrive at the church & Dinner (worship lead by Robbie Conrad who they met at Hume Lake Christian Summer camp)

Friday: Early morning serving at the local Native American Reservation. The kids were able to paint an entire room, pack up over 100 boxes of food, wrap presents for the children and clean out and organize 3 sheds. They came back to the church that night and served at the harvest carnival. THey put labels on 2,000 water bottles with our church's information.

Saturday: Passed out water bottles at the parade & street evangelism. That night they went door to door and invited people to church and asked for prayer requests. They went to over 400 homes. Had a worship time and dessert.

Sunday: Woke up extremely early and served food to the homeless.

After the time there were 5 students who took initiative and went back to the reservation to help reach out to the children on the reservation. They were so excited and there is nothing more precious than seeing these kids excited for God and seeing His power in their lives. Amazing God!

Dress-up Time

Yes, as you can see it has been a very fun summer. Jane and I flew down to LA for 1 week and she also attended a princess party at home in Nevada. She is becoming such a cute little girl. Currently she is running from place to place and talking in a language we don't understand and we are loving every minute of it!

Miscarriage and God's Unending Love and Faithfulness

For those of you who have not heard we recently went through a miscarriage. As hard and crazy as our week was we are so thankful to the Lord for His sovereignty. I felt so loved by all of you who prayed for me; God has truly sustained me and taught me so many lessons. I am thankful that one day there will be no sin, no loss, no more sadness and we will behold the glory of our Lord in heaven where we belong. I thank God that He is so powerful and has done so many amazing miracles in our lives that my faith is not shaken and I find myself content with not knowing why but rejoicing in God for who He is and what He has done and will continue to do in our lives.

I miss the girls from Frontline. I am so thankful for the memories we share and the relationships that God has blessed us with. I feel very blessed to have spent time with each of the girls.

ALASKA

This state is amazing. From the hikes through ice caves in glaciers to catching a 30 lb. fish, and people dropping off dungenous crabs, because they have too much, this place is amazing. It is awesome to see how the Lord has blessed us with such a diverse world

And yes...Im bringing home the meat.

IN THE GLACIER
After a 2 hr hike and "bushwacking" through some Alaskan wilderness, we came up to Mendenhall Glacier. It is amazing to see into the depths of the ice caves and see and hear its slow movement.

Our dear friends Tracy and Alan invited us to come and stay with them in Juneau, Alaska. So far we have gone downtown, driven to the end of 2 roads, hiked by the West Glacier Trail, gone to their church, went to a camp site and killed amazing amounts of bugs with these electric bug zappers. No, we haven't seen any bears yet but; John and Alan hiked up to the top of the glacier and saw a porcupine! We are headed to the tram tomorrow and to go gold panning. We are having a nice time. Flying in was so amazing and yesterday was the longest day of the year. In fact, it's almost 11:00 pm and it is dusk outside. Crazy!

We went to the LA Zoo while in town for the Shepherd's Conference and had so much fun. It was Auntie Allie's idea and we had a wonderful day!

Easter

We had a great time with some dear friends. The service was great and there were 8 people baptized. Jane had fun picking up her eggs and putting them in the basket.

Josh & Laura's Visit

Josh and Laura came up in February and it snowed non-stop for 2 days. Crazy Snow! We went sledding and played Settlers a lot. We had snowball slushies with Rootbeer. It was so good.
